Common questions from new players

General Questions

What platforms is Rhythm Doctor available on?

Rhythm Doctor is available on Steam (Windows/macOS/Linux), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and itch.io. Version 1.0 and Xbox console versions were released simultaneously in December 2025.

Does the game support controllers?

Yes! The game supports Xbox, PlayStation, and other mainstream controllers. You can use any button instead of spacebar.

Is there multiplayer?

The main story is single-player, but some levels support local two-player co-op. Additionally, many community-made custom levels also support multiplayer.

How long is the game?

Completing the main story takes about 8-12 hours. With Night Shift mode, all S+ ranks, and custom levels, playtime can exceed 50 hours.

Gameplay Questions

Why are my inputs always off?

First check audio offset settings and calibrate from the main menu. Also, use wired headphones instead of Bluetooth devices to reduce latency.

How do I get S+ ranks?

You need near-perfect accuracy (usually 98%+). Practice more, use practice mode, and watch expert videos.

What is Night Shift mode?

Night Shift is a harder variant of each level with additional challenges. Unlocked after completing the main story.

What if I'm stuck on a level?

Use practice mode to repeat difficult sections. You can also ask for help in the Discord community where many helpful players gather.

Technical Questions

The game is lagging, what should I do?

Try lowering graphics settings and disabling VSync. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

Audio and video are out of sync?

Adjust audio offset in settings. Use the calibration tool for precise adjustment. Avoid Bluetooth audio devices.

Where are save files located?

On Windows, saves are in %APPDATA%\Rhythm Doctor\saves folder.

Custom Levels

How do I download custom levels?

You can download from Steam Workshop or Rhythm Café website. Place downloaded files in the game's Levels folder.

I want to make my own levels, where do I start?

First download the free level editor (available on itch.io), then check out official editor docs and tutorials on this site.

How do I share my created levels?

Upload to Steam Workshop or submit to Rhythm Café website. Join the Discord community for feedback!
