Core Mechanics

Deep dive into Rhythm Doctor's game mechanics

Beat Demo

Press space on the 7th beat!

Core Concept

The core gameplay is simple: a heartbeat line appears on screen, and you need to press space when it reaches the 7th beat.

But as you progress, you'll encounter various changes and challenges: different rhythm types, visual distractions, multiple heartbeat lines playing simultaneously, and more.

Mechanics Explained

Basic Beat

Beginner
Act 1

The most fundamental mechanic - follow a steady rhythm and press on the 7th beat.

Tips

Focus on the music's beat, count 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 in your head.

Swing Rhythm

Beginner
Act 1

Beats aren't evenly spaced - some are long, some short, creating a swinging feel.

Tips

Common in jazz - try to feel the 'bounce' of the music.

Held Beats

Intermediate
Act 2

Hold the button until the cue ends, rather than a quick press.

Tips

Watch for extended heartbeat line cues, hold until the line ends.

Polyrhythm

Intermediate
Act 2

Multiple heartbeat lines play at different rhythms simultaneously.

Tips

Try focusing on one main line, let the other become background rhythm.

Offbeat

Advanced
Act 3

Beats fall on unexpected positions, breaking regular rhythm patterns.

Tips

Keep counting internally, don't be fooled by visual positions.

Visual Tricks

Advanced
Act 4

The game uses various visual effects to distract your judgment.

Tips

Close your eyes and rely entirely on hearing to judge the beat.
